History: Today they are known as the Kansas City Chiefs, but when the American Football League (AFL) began play with their inaugural season in 1960, they were known as the Dallas Texans. After 2 mediocre seasons in 1961 & 1962, The Texans broke through under the tutelage of future Hall of Fame Coach Hank Stram and the passing of another future Hall of Famer in young Len Dawson, as the Texans won the AFL Championship in 1963.
